Seriously Sustainable (With a Smile :)
Sustainability in Food Packaging
At a time when environmental responsibility is more important than ever, we’re proud to take a proactive role in shaping the future of sustainable food packaging. Our approach is grounded in circular thinking — designing packaging that minimises environmental impact, conserves resources, and supports a cleaner, healthier planet.
We believe that every packaging decision matters. That’s why sustainability isn’t just part of what we do — it’s the foundation.
Responsibly Sourced Materials
Our commitment to sustainability starts with the materials we use. We focus on selecting materials that are compostable, recyclable, and designed to support a circular economy. By choosing options that break down naturally or can be easily recycled, we help reduce long-term environmental impact and promote responsible end-of-life solutions.
We use food-grade materials that are safe and compliant, and wherever possible, we choose FSC™-certified paper from responsibly managed forests. Our packaging is PFAS-free and includes certified compostable materials to ensure minimal environmental impact. We also love giving materials a second life — that’s why we use recycled content wherever possible, helping to reduce the need for freshly sourced resources. And we only work with trusted suppliers who meet strict ethical and environmental standards.
Ethical and Transparent Supply Chain
We team up with manufacturers who share our values — businesses that operate with integrity and care deeply about ethical, environmental, and social responsibility. Every manufacturing partner, logistics provider, and material supplier goes through a thorough selection process and ongoing checks, including regular third-party audits, social and environmental self-assessments, compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct, and holding key certifications such as BRC and ISO.
Many of these partnerships have lasted over a decade, giving us the chance to work closely together on innovation, performance, and continuous improvement — from safety and quality to making a real difference in sustainability.
Renewable Energy in Our Supply Chain
We’re really proud to work with manufacturing partners who are stepping up and investing in clean energy. One of our key compostable bag partners has installed solar panels to reduce their reliance on grid electricity. Right now, around 30% of the energy powering their facility comes straight from their own sunshine-powered setup — and they’re excited to increase that number even further.
It’s a fantastic way to show just how committed we all are to smart, responsible, and forward-thinking manufacturing partnerships.
Creating a
Circular Economy
A circular economy means nothing goes to waste — just smart design and thoughtful choices. By using compostable and recyclable materials, we're helping products live on, either as part of nature or in something completely new. Composting is like giving back to the earth: scraps turn into super-soil, feeding plants and boosting biodiversity. It's a small act with big impact — and a fun, natural way to help the planet flourish!
Breaking It Down (Literally): Why We Love Composting
Composting is nature’s way of recycling! It’s the process where materials like food scraps, plant waste, and compostable packaging break down naturally into nutrient-rich soil. Instead of ending up in landfill, these materials transform into something that helps plants grow and supports a healthy environment.
Compost loves compostable packaging — especially materials that are rich in carbon, like paper and plant-based starches. These add valuable carbon to the compost pile, helping balance the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio. That balance is essential for healthy composting, giving the pile the perfect mix it needs to get cooking and decompose effectively.
Our Australian compost-certified products are designed to break down safely and consistently, turning everyday waste into meaningful resources. Depending on certification, all are commercially compostable, with many also suitable for home composting.
Composting is a simple, impactful way to give back to the earth and build a cleaner, greener future. It improves soil health, supports water retention, reduces the need for chemical fertilisers, and keeps organic waste out of landfill — making it a win for both people and the planet.
Packaging the Future, Together
We believe progress happens when people come together. That’s why we work alongside government bodies, industry groups and environmental organisations to stay informed and in step with the latest in packaging innovation and regulation.
These partnerships help us stay flexible, respond to change, and deliver solutions that support our customers’ goals — for their business and the planet. Because we go further when we go together.
